MENTAL HEALTH
In any given year, 1 in 5 Canadians will personally experience a mental health problem or illness. Mental illness can affect people of all ages, education, income levels and culture and by the age of 40, about 50% of the population will have or have had a mental illness.[1]
My goal is for you to feel supported and understood through personable, professional, and patient-centered care. Whether it be stress, anxiety, depression, or something else, the majority of us have or will struggle with our mental health. It is a personal and sensitive subject for many. Thus, it deserves personal, sensitive and specific care.
With a comprehensive history and thorough investigation, I work with you to help understand why and how you are struggling and how we can use naturopathic medicine to support you. Through the use of nutrition, herbal medicine, and lifestyle techniques (and pharmaceuticals when necessary) we work together to find the best treatment plan for you.
Please note: I am not a counselor, therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist. I will support you to the best of my ability as a naturopathic physician and as per the governmental CNPBC rules. I am happy to work as part of a health care team that may include one or more of the above health care providers. Some patients may require the care of another specialty and it will be recommended as necessary.
